About this SEO score checker
A practical on-page SEO audit for bloggers, site owners and marketers
The FreeConvertors SEO score checker is a free browser-based tool that reviews the on-page fundamentals of any webpage. On-page SEO is the part of search optimisation you control directly on the page itself: titles, descriptions, headings, structure, image alt text, canonical tags and readable content. These signals help search engines understand what a page is about and whether it should rank for its topic.
To use it, open any page in your browser, choose View Page Source (or Ctrl+U), copy the HTML and paste it into the tool. The checker inspects the code and produces a score from 0 to 100 with a clear pass/fail checklist for each signal.
What the checklist covers
The tool checks for a title tag in the recommended 30-65 character range, a meta description around 70-160 characters, exactly one H1, viewport and canonical tags, an indexable robots meta, alt text on every image, a healthy word count, H2 subheadings, at least some links and Open Graph tags for social sharing.
How to improve a low score
Fix the missing items one by one: write a descriptive title and meta description, use a single clear H1 with organised H2 sections, add alt text to every image, set a canonical tag, and expand thin content. Re-run the checker after each change to watch the score improve.
